NSW pays apprentices and new entrant trainees per kilometre and per night when they travel far for day or block release training.

Who can get it
- Registered in NSW as an apprentice or new entrant trainee with a NSW workplace
- Travel more than 110 km return for day or block release training
How to claim
- Complete the VTAS form, sign it, have your RTO sign and endorse it, and lodge it with your local Training Services NSW office.
Conditions and catches
- Claims must be submitted by 30 June following the year of travel.
- Claims submitted after 1 November 2025 are not backdated to the new rates.
