Who can get it

  • Australian or NZ citizen, permanent resident or permanent humanitarian visa holder.
  • Commencing in Semester 1 2027 after moving to Melbourne, or to Bendigo from more than 90 minutes away.
  • Financial hardship, such as a low-income Centrelink payment or Health Care Card.

How to claim

  1. Apply direct to RMIT online (preferred) or through VTAC, with supporting documents.

Conditions and catches

  • Semester 1 2027 applications close 2pm Tuesday 20 October 2026.
