Who can get it

  • Australian citizens, New Zealand citizens and permanent residents, including humanitarian permanent residents.
  • In a Commonwealth supported bachelor degree at any SCU campus.
  • Low socio-economic status, for example getting a means-tested Centrelink income support payment, or aged 16 to 20 with a parent getting Family Tax Benefit Part A for you.

How to claim

  1. Apply online through UAC's Equity Scholarships page.

Conditions and catches

  • SCU usually awards them to students with several disadvantages, such as caring duties, a long-term medical condition or being a sole parent.
  • Not for students who already hold a bachelor degree, get another Commonwealth-funded scholarship, or get a non-government scholarship over $6,000 a year.
  • The closing dates on SCU's page contradict each other, so check them with the Scholarship Office before applying.
