$10
The card costs $10, including $5 of credit, at most institutions.
Who can get it
- Full-time students at a Western Australian university or TAFE college.
- Full-time is set by your institution. For example, 24 credit points at UWA or 12 contact hours a week at Notre Dame.
What you'll need
- A second photo ID, such as a driver's licence. Your student ID doesn't count as proof of full-time study.
How to claim
- Curtin, ECU, Murdoch, UWA and TAFE: get a SmartRider and register it through your institution's portal or form, then tag on and off to activate the concession.
- Notre Dame and other colleges: fill in the Tertiary SmartRider application, have Student Administration sign it, and take it to a Transperth sales outlet.
Conditions and catches
- Part-time and correspondence students can't apply, and neither can students from interstate or overseas institutions.
- At Notre Dame and other colleges the concession expires on 31 March of the next year, so reapply before then.
- Transperth doesn't state the size of the discount, so no figure is shown.
