Who can get it
- People getting Carer Payment, Disability Support Pension or Parenting Payment Single, plus some other payments in specific cases.
- Studying at least 25% of a full-time load.
- Australian residents aged 16 or over. There is no upper age limit.
How to claim
- You need to lodge a claim with Services Australia before it can be paid.
Conditions and catches
- Not paid with Youth Allowance or Austudy.
- It is not taxable and has no income or assets test.
- The guide gives a rate but was last reviewed in January 2022, so no amount is shown until we confirm it.
